DDoS attack

BISD has been experiencing an intermittent Distributed Denial of Service attack for two days. Bullard and Region 7 technicians found a solution so district users can access the Internet, and users can also access district resources from the outside.

Houston Livestock Show

 Juliann Hill two two top awards, heading a list of 24 BHS students who brought home honors from the Houston Livestock Show March 10-23.

Hill showed the Champion Yorkshire in the Market Barrow Division and had the Reserve Champion Brangus in the Steer Division.

Phelps state champ

Sophomore Hunter Phelps took the state championship in his class, and Senior Aaron Johnson placed fourth to lead the Panther powerlifting team to a fifth place team trophy at the state meet in Abilene.

Phelps’ state title came in the 220-lb. class with combined lifts of 1,580 lbs. He had a squat of 650 lbs., bench press of 335 lbs and a deadlift of 595 lbs.

Johnson, competing in the 181-lb. class, had combined lifts of 1,430 lbs. He had a squat of 550, bench press of 315 and a deadlift of 565.

Powder Puff game

The guys and gals trade places on the gridiron April 25 in the Bullard Middle School Builder’s Club annual Power Puff football game.

The 5:30 p.m. contest will feature the seventh and eighth grade girls on the field with the MS boys on the sidelines cheering them on.

Proceeds from the annual event go to a charity chosen by the club. This year, the club plans to keep the donation at home by sponsoring Team Russell. The Russell’s daughter, Cassie, is an eighth grader and a Builder’s Club member. For more information on the Russell family, go to:

Admission is $5 for the game, and the NJHS is running the concession stand for the Builder’s Club during the game. Following the game, there will be the Powder Puff Dance from 7:30-10 p.m. for BMS students. Admission to the dance is $5.
