Hello!

I'm Emilie Sweat (previously Ms. Kerr), and this is my 18th year of teaching fun! I feel so grateful to know my passion and be able to live it out each day!  I began my teaching career straight out of college in 2003 after earning a Bachelors of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies as well as my teacher certification for grades 1st through 8th.  The first 5 years, I taught 4th grade math and science then moved to 5th grade math and science for 1 year.  I was then able to stay home with my 2 babies for a short time.  However, I couldn't wait to get back to teaching!  I started teaching 6th grade math at Bullard Intermediate in June of 2011, and I'm now super excited to be in my 4th year of teaching 6th grade science! I love all of my students as my own, but I actually have 3 biological loves!  My son Asa is 14 and in 9th grade; my daughter Scarlett is 13 and in 7th grade, and my little guy, Knox is 2  1/2 years old!  I also have a wonderful husband, Britt Sweat!

Science is such a fun subject to teach!  Students will explore so many interesting concepts this year as 6th grade science includes many lab oportunities!  Please check out the 6th grade science year at a glance attached to this page.
